The 26th Graduation Ceremony at the Imam Al-Shafi'i Institute for Training Imams and Preachers
The graduation ceremony for the 26th graduating class of the Imam Al-Shafi'i Institute for Training Imams and Preachers was held yesterday, Monday, February 2, 2026, in the institute's courtyards. The ceremony was attended by prominent figures from the fields of Islamic outreach and education, as well as leaders and heads of educational associations and centers in Tanzania.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of the guest of honor, Mr. Arif Mubarak Al-Nahdi, President of the Islamic Foundation in Tanzania, who, in his address, praised the institute's significant role in training imams and preachers and disseminating sound Islamic knowledge. He affirmed the foundation's commitment to supporting the institute by improving its facilities, completing the investment shop building project to ensure financial sustainability, and providing a number of educational and media resources in response to requests submitted by the institute's administration.
The ceremony was also attended by a number of prominent figures and leaders, including:
Sheikh Salem Barahyan, Director of the Ansar Center for Muslim Youth;
His Excellency, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Ansar Center, Brother Bader Issa Bader;
Sheikh Ibrahim Taha, Executive Director of the Islamic Foundation in Tanzania;
Sheikh Muhammad Abbas, Director of Da'wah at the Direct Aid Foundation – Tanga;
Sheikh Ali Kirbutu, Director of the Darul Uloom Islamic Institute in Tanga; and a number of other center directors and those interested in educational and da'wah affairs.
This year, 34 students graduated, qualifying them to undertake the mission of da'wah and leading prayers, and to continue their studies at the university level. We ask God Almighty to make them a benefit to Islam and Muslims, and to bless the efforts of those in charge of this academic institution.
